CLICK ON PICS AGAIN TO ENLARGE. This depicts the boot prints of a soldier on the map and flag of Iraq, as he marches towards the chimney stack of an oil refinery. The U.S. flag is suggested in the smoke. It’s a Muslim insult to show the sole of your foot to someone. Originally I drew the flag as it has been since, I believe, the early 90’s- with the name of God on the middle band. Before spraying it up I tried to find out whether this would generally be considered offensive – in view of the message. The Iraqis down at Occupation Watch loved it but (typically) it got mixed reactions elsewhere. Curiously, you can see that someone has tried to rub out the 2 feet touching the middle band on one of them, but left the rest of the image untouched (See pic. 3 of 3). I remade it with the words missing (above), and apologise here for any offence caused to Muslims.
